I dropped my three-month plan on my regular art account -> *propheteka so you don't have to worry about more of that. I will give you the gist of what's in store for Biff though:
- Donations: I plan on taking donations within the month. It was a tough decision for a guy like me but my income just isn't steady enough right now to be choose-y. The kind of guy that I am, I refuse to just drop a donate button on my page after years of resistance without making it worthwhile for folks. I'm in he process of building some wallpapers and will attempt to keep up fresh ones every month if possible. Drop a comment on anyone you'd like to see in a wallpaper here or on a poll on *propheteka.
- Ads: The Project Wonderful ads are still there (with the possibility of a price change on the skyscraper) so those will still be around for folks to pay for advertising and spread the love. I did, however, drop the Google ad at the bottom of my page. It gets few views, little to no hits and has yet to garner me even the smallest amount of cash.
- Store: I'm in the process of rebuilding and restocking my store. CafePress was neat but I switched to Zazzle and now I'm starting fresh. Zazzle is fine for stuff I can't do myself but I plan on doing some prints, too. That means rebuilding my old "Shops and the HoA" and "Biff Shop". I'll keep you folks up-to-date when that goes down. = )

Now to address a bit of a kerfuffle that has sprung up over the recent (and very sudden) change of Webcomics.Com from a free informational site to a pay informational site.
From what I gathered from others, the biggest issue that came up (outside of strange thoughts that it was always going to be free) is the sudden dropping of a subscriber wall on folks. This... was a bad move PR-wise. It felt like it cut the legs out from underneath a lot of folks but this move was not unexpected. The site is becoming more and more of a business resource and, like any business resource, there has to come a time when a subscriber model is put into place. Bandwidth, server space, the basic care and feeding of the site... this all costs time and money. That leads me into my second point - The Price.
Though I admit that I kinda' saw this coming for a bit now, I didn't see that initial price point. $30 a year is insanely good for access to that info. Unfortunately, $30 is $30. If you just dropped serious cash over the holidays and you get hit with yet another $30 expense with no warning to plan it into your budget, you would be miffed too. It's going to be a minute before I can get the $30 together as this month's budget is pretty tight... and I dropped about that much on a devArt sub not 12 hours before this whole thing went down. Talk about kicking myself in the butt for that move. o.@
All-in-all, the buy in seems a bit steep due to it's timing and abruptness but the info from the past plus the info they say is coming makes it an interesting resource that I want in on. Once I pay off some stuff, I'm gettin' mine sub.
Then again, that's just what I think.

Sorry for the odd bit of ranting but I had to drop that somewhere. We'll be back to the regularly scheduled program soon enough. I have some stuff written that just needs to be drawn. = )
'Till next time!
